![]() ![]() I came here to help you as spotter, I'm guessing you're not too keen to go attack in the frontlines with that DVL of yours. "Boris is preparing to attack the tunnel, and they already went to the encampment. What are you doing here, brat?", Dimka questioned in turn. "Ravenholm? That some place you fought with the peacekeepers in?", Sanyok asked. "These swamps are giving me the creeps man, and you rattling up that ladder gave me flashbacks of Ravenholm.", Dimka sighed as Sanyok made it up. "I know I didn't ring the doorbell, but isn't that a bit rough welcome, Dimka?", Sanyok quipped as Dimka holstered his revolver. He almost let go by sheer shock, but thankfully regained his composure. Grabbing his Ruger and slowly crawling to the ladder, Dimka pointed his barrel down the ladder, to the surprise of Sanyok climbing up. Dimka wondered who the old man was, and was about to contact Boris when he heard someone rattle the ladder behind him. He could not read lips, but judging by the quick exchange, it was a mere report and a few orders given by the commander. One of the guys stopped to discuss things with another UNISG soldier, one Dimka had identified as the place's boss. His ponderings were cut short when he saw two UNISG troopers drag some greyhaired guy inside the tunnel. Still, if someone was to convince their superiors of what had happened here, it was Maus, not the two random corporals. For a second he envied Maus, who could lay low in an area Khan's men knew nothing of. ![]() In the Zone, Dimka and Sevka had to rely entirely on the locals. This was different from Transnistria and Liberia, where encounters with the locals had been brief or entirely done by shooting guns at one another. ![]() Damn, Dimka thought to himself, I may be going native here. Dimka caught himself thinking of Redemption as such, despite being very confident earlier that this would just be a temporary solution and he was not supposed to be a proper member. Soon enough he and his new faction would strike down like a hammer of vengeance. Had Maus been killed in the traitor's attack on original UNISG, or had he never met Scar, Dimka would most likely be there on that tunnel, patrolling the entrance with no clue on how treacherous his comrades were.ĭimka got a sudden urge to lay down fire on the men in red, green and white uniforms, out of rage for what they had done. As he watched the patrols and behaviour of the UNISG soldiers, he couldn't help but wonder how quickly things had changed. Dimka turned off the radio and returned to his observations. Boris replied that they had managed to capture their target and would head to the encampment the second Clear Sky patrols made it to the machine yard. Sevka copied and told his comrade that Felka and him would remain in the encampment and wait for rest of Redemption to approach. Where they got such rare guns, Dimka did not know, but they would surely pose a problem when Redemption attack began.ĭimka turned on his radio and reported the situation to Sevka and Boris. They had mounted two MG-36 machine guns on both sides of the tunnel entrance's roof. He observed his traitorous ex-faction members patrolling the tunnel entrance, counting roughly ten of them in total. While the top of the tower was open to elements and only covered by thin planks, his DVL could reap havoc on the UNISG forces. But once Dimka made it up there, the dangerous task had been a worthwhile one. It had not been an easy task, as the ladder creaked and wobbled under the weight of the stalker. It provided far better view into the Tuzla tunnel, so as Felka and Sevka finished off the rogue bandits, Dimka trudged over there and climbed up the rusty ladder. Upon finishing off the two Black Slugs patrolling the village in the night before, he had spotted the tower standing in the corner of the derelict hamlet. Dimka greeted the dawn on top of his little hideout. Still, it was also not the horribly grey, oppressive cloudcover of most days, making the already depressing mood of most Zone-dwellers even worse than the hangovers and lack of food. As it often was in the Zone, today was not particularly spectacular weather-wise. Sunshine rose over the swamps through the clouds. ![]()
